A Bright Future for BESDS

BESDS has received $8.7M in the state budget to improve our learning environment!

The Victorian Government is investing record funding in our schools to make Victoria the Education State and give every student access to a great local school and education.

Burwood East SDS has been allocated $8.7M in the 2022-23 State Budget to replace relocatable buildings with new permanent classroom facilities. This funding will help our school to improve our learning, teaching and community connection for the future.

We will work closely with the School Council and the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) to deliver an outcome that will benefit the entire community.

To prepare for the upgrade, we will complete an Asset Management Plan (AMP) over the next 11 weeks. The AMP is a long-term document that helps to plan for a school’s future. The plan identifies, organises and prioritises the building works required at a school – ensuring students have access to educational facilities that prepare them to thrive in the 21st century. We will be sharing updates on this and will be inviting input from our staff as well as parents/carers and the surrounding community. We will also involve our students to listen to their unique and important perspectives.

We will also keep you informed through regular communication as the project progresses. Watch this space!
