Visual Arts
The creation of artworks brings a multitude of benefits to our students. Individual work supports the development of creativity, fine-motor skills and freedom in choice-making and student agency. Students also work together in the creative process, developing empathy and collaborative skills. Student work is displayed with great pride around the school. All students have a timetabled session with the Visual Arts teacher during their week.
Performing Arts
A Burwood East student is always encouraged to express their individuality through music and performance. Our termly assemblies are strengthened through the performances of our choir. Listening to and producing music is something that our students love and the Performing Arts teacher works with every class across the week.
Physical Education
Taking part in physical activity is important for our students. The school has many indoor and outdoor areas where students can engage in sports activities during their timetabled PE program. In addition, sport in the community is also a popular choice with swimming, bowling and many other coaching opportunities in the neighbouring area.Creative Movement
Friday morning is a popular time with students. They work with our Creative Movement and Dance instructor and participate in a broad range of activities and movement programs.
